Same Love is one of the most moving songs you can listen to. It gives some homophobic people a different perspective on how to look at others, and more importantly, on how to look at life . Poetry is like music . It gets you to think, and I mean really think about the decisions you make in the future . This song, especially, is extremely poetic . One of my favorite lines of Same Love is, " And I can't change , even if I tried, even if I wanted to." This means that you are who you are, and we are all different, and someone should have no right to judge or threaten someone else because they are not as manly or as feminine as you want them to be . How would you like it if someone came up to you, threw you in the trash and told you to change ,told you that you don't belong. It'll hurt, a lot more than you think . Sometimes I would walk down the hallway and see two guys hugging and it's sweet. But then, out of nowhere , another group of immature boys, scream out "Man that's gay" and laugh and walk by like nothing even happened. Don't ever take these things as a joke . If you don't feel comfortable around homosexuals and what not, don't say anything at all. To be truthful, your words will stab someone like a knife . Mind your own business. When it comes to things like this, it's not cool or funny or humors. It's just plain, old, SICK, and absolutely unexceptionable . Songs like this really make you feel something. You have that knot in your stomach because, you now realize that we need a change, and one song, one line , even one word, should do the trick .
