Johannes Gensfleisch zur Laden zum Gutenberg also known as Johannes Gutenberg has caused a big change in the world. He was born on 1395 in Mainz, Germany. He died on February 3rd, 1468 in Mainz, Germany. He aged around 70 years until he died but he left a great gift for us. Today you will learn who he was, what he invented, what his occupation was, and what books he printed. Johannes was the first to invent the movable type printing press. He was a German blacksmith, goldsmith, printer, and publisher who had introduced the idea of printing to Europe. By his invention of the mechanical movable type printing started the Printing Revolution and has been said to be the most important event for the modern period. Gutenberg was also the first European to movable type printing which had happened at around 1439. He had printed many copies of the bible.
